However, after booting from the external hard drive, it becomes normal speed. It works fine except for one thing — USB speed booting off of the flash drives.
I use several different flash drives with different configs for testing. I think I’ll just stick with it because I’m already happy with this boards performance.
I removed the hard drive from the enclosure and ran it through one of my SATA ports. I ask that because I know some devices have their own controllers which can conflict with the onboard ones.

My usb stick is in fat32 format with a puppy linux that i just used in another pc and it works allraight When i chose hdd i get showed both my hard drives and some peripheral cards or something like that but no usb.

I just got gigabytr replacement motherboard sealed and new from the box and it has the same exact problem.

My usb devices won’t turn off even if the system is off, but that is a different story. Hope this helps someone out there. Interestingly, this seems to be an ever growing issue for many different motherboards from different vendors.
